Although in essence, even after touching the deepest depths of the earth, the soul is divine, in order to realize for itself that Divine Element it has a task waiting even after being human. It is the manner in which that task is accomplished, and the object gained which is called Zira’at.
Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan
Zira’at is an initiatic and esoteric school, open to all who are prepared to commit to working the spiritual path in a focused and devotional way.
The Persian and Arabic roots of the word Zira’at mean ‘agriculture’ and ‘bridge’. Agriculture provides a rich metaphor and symbolism for the cultivation of our being so that the seed at its essence may grow and unfold. The bridge is between our inner and outer worlds which guide the work and give meaning to our experience in life.
The Zira’at Lodge ceremony enshrines the specific esoteric teaching for the work and with ritual we attune to its message. The Lodge is the focus around which we gather to deepen our understanding of the many rich Zira’at themes through exploration, reflection and sharing. Growing consciousness of the elements is a cornerstone of the ceremony and our daily practice.
Newcomers are most welcome. The group currently meets online once a month except around holiday periods.
